The koala is one of Australia’s most recognisable native animals, found in the eucalyptus forests of the country’s eastern and southern regions. The Australian Koala silver bullion series was introduced in 2007 and has since become one of The Perth Mint’s most collected wildlife ranges, with each year’s release portraying the koala in a different setting. Each coin is struck by The Perth Mint from 99.99% pure silver, issued as Australian legal tender with a face value of $1 AUD, and features the ‘P’ mintmark on the reverse with the effigy of the reigning monarch on the obverse.
